NFCB is pleased to announce our first web conference, on Political
Broadcasting.

As you may have noticed, it's Election Season. You've got initiatives
on the ballot that rouse strong feelings; volunteers running for local
office; volunteers wanting to endorse candidates; candidates asking you
to announce their fundraising events; political parties asking you to
co-sponsor speakers....

Three federal agencies regulate political activity for noncommercial
radio stations: the Federal Communications Commission (FCC); the
Internal Revenue Service (IRS); and the Federal Elections Commission
(FEC). It is critical that Station Managers and Program Directors
know-and understand well enough to explain to other staff and
volunteers-the legal limits of partisan political activity both on and
off the air.

John Crigler, attorney with Garvey Schubert Barer, will present the
material and answer as many of your questions as possible.

Date: Thursday, June 26

Time: 10 AM Pacific, 11 AM Mountain, Noon Central, 1 PM Eastern

Duration: 1 hour

Cost: Free to NFCB members

To register: http://events.meetingbridge.com/Info/?05123430096

Coming next: July 28, August 18 and September 15 (all at 11 AM Pacific,
2 PM Eastern): Advancing Your Station Through Major Giving, a 3 part
web seminar led by Jim Lewis. Stay tuned for more information.
