Re: My Source Community Impact Grants Now Available
In order to help public radio and television stations successfully use
the My Source creative platform to meet their public awareness,
community engagement and other strategic goals, CPB is offering between
30 and 50 My Source Community Impact Grants.
ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
* All CSG-eligible radio, television and joint licensees may apply.
* Three grant types are available. As appropriate, stations may
apply for one, two or all three grants, for a maximum of $10,000 per
station.
* The grant program will be administered by the National Center for
Outreach; grant agreements will be between stations and the National
Center for Outreach.
* All grantees will be expected to follow My Source creative
guidelines, including appropriate use of the My Source logo. See
www.MySourcefor.org/forpublicbroadcasters.cfm.
AVAILABLE GRANTS
* Startup Assistance ($2000)
This grant is for stations who have not yet initiated the My Source
platform. It may be used for any implementation activity, e.g. staff
time, field production, editing, print pieces, community meetings, etc.
Important: applicants for Startup Assistance must have been accepted
into a My Source Workshop, or have registered for the complete My Source
Web training curriculum.

* Producer Stipend ($4000)
This grant is designed to help stations obtain or allocate television,
radio or online production personnel needed to create My Source
testimonials. This grant may only be used for production staff or
contractors.
* Support Funds for Community Impact Awards ($4000)
CPB will present the first annual My Source Community Impact Awards at
the next National Leaders Meeting, in March 2009. The awards will
recognize and honor public television and radio stations that exhibit
community responsiveness, effective programs and services, and a
creative and well-executed use of the My Source platform to articulate
and promote their impact areas.
These Support grants are to help stations create new, or highlight
existing station initiatives, and to tell the story of local impact
using the My Source platform. Grant funds may be used for any My Source
activity. Note that grantee projects will be automatically entered into
the My Source Community Impact Awards competition in late January 2009.
PROCESS AND TIMELINE
* A grant application (Microsoft Word form document) is available at:
http://www.mysourcefor.org/communityimpactgrants.cfm.
* Once completed, this form should be saved and be sent as an
attachment to mysource at cpb.org
* Questions may be sent via e-mail to mysource at cpb.org.
* The application deadline is June 30, 2008.
* Applications will be reviewed by CPB and external reviewers.
* CPB anticipates making 30 to 50 grants, depending on the number and
type of applications.
* Grant notifications will be made by July 25, 2008.
* The grant term will start no earlier than August 1, 2008 and end no
later than January 31, 2009.
