ABOUT KVMR AND NEVADA COUNTY

Nevada City is a small foothills town rich in history and natural
beauty, steeped in vibrant artistic, literary and musical traditions.
Our climate is considered mild and inviting by most and is an open and
welcoming community where values-driven newcomers integrate quickly into
our midst. Our listeners and 150 volunteer citizen/broadcasters
recognize the importance of environmental quality and sustainability and
many of us savor our state-protected Wild and Scenic river, the South
Yuba.

We have more bookstores per capita than just about anywhere, for which
we have been nationally recognized. Our "community", however, extends
well beyond our city and county limits - nearly half of our listeners
are in the Sacramento metro area, where we are an alternative to
commercial and public-formatted radio. We invite you to become an
integral part of our community by applying for the position of KVMR News
Director.
