Subject: radio editions of Live From Main Street with Laura Flanders
TELL USWHAT YOU THINK?
Making Contact will be creating radio editions adapted from the TV
mini-series Live From Main Street with Laura Flanders.
These special 29-minute pre-election programs will be available each
month from June to October. We'd love to hear if and how stations and
freelancers want to participate. We are also seeking funding to be able
to create 1-hour versions so stand by for updates on that.
Live >From Main Street is a tour of the U.S. in Election Year 2008,
hosted by popular journalist and radio personality Laura Flanders and
produced by The Media Consortium, a member-based organization committed
to strengthening the independent media landscape.
The goal is to develop new ways for independent Radio, TV, Print and Web
to work collaboratively, while bringing the voices and truths of
everyday Americans into the current national election conversation.
In a series of Town Hall events being held around the country, Live From
Main Street will be distributed on television (Free Speech TV and Link),
Making Contact's radio series, satellite channels, streamed across the
web, and written about in print and online outlets.
Below are the tentative dates and themes for the town-hall
events/productions. The release dates for the radio programs will be
"soon after the events" - but YOUR input and opinions will affect our
final program release dates so please let us know what you think about
timing. We also encourage those of you in the regions below to contact
us for other ways to participate!
