Dear current and former Gardner fellows,

TIME Magazine's Sept. 10, 2007 issue has a special feature entitled "The
Case for National Service." It highlights profiles of Americans
participating in the public sphere, proposes a plan for expanding the
already growing trend of community engagement across the nation, and even
summarizes the outlook of presidential hopefuls on the topic of public
service. I really liked Hillary Clinton's support of a "U.S. Public Service
Academy" that mirrors the model of our military academies.
