JGFA MEMBERS,
As many of you know, we had a successful launch of the
JGFA Roundtable in the summer with a great session
featuring Subodh Chandra talking about his experiences
running for Attorney General of Ohio.
We are excited to announce our second JGFA Roundtable,
which will feature JGFA member Donna Michelle Anderson
(DMA) and focus on the promise of leveraging the
internet to affect social change, especially in the
educational arena. The event will take place on
Wednesday, October 24 at 5 pm PT/8 pm ET and will last
between an hour to an hour and half.
The session is titled Public Service 2.0 Uniting
Technology and Activism. In a few weeks, DMA
(Gardner Fellow in 86) will take her nearly
decade-long college-assistance program online as an
extensive, evolved goal network that ambitiously
combines community development with advanced online
and mobile interactivity and new media. Join DMA in a
lively discussion about the promise and potential
pitfalls of Web 2.0 and 3.0 as platforms for social
change, particularly in the area of educational access
and equality.
For over a decade, DMA has been a writer, producer and
show runner of non-fiction television for broadcast,
cable and new media outlets. She is the co-founder of
the Cornerstone Learning Center in Manhattan, now in
its 13th year of tutoring and mentoring
underrepresented middle school and high school
students on the Upper West Side, and the founder and
director of First in the Family, which for eight years
offered free mentoring through the college application
process to high school seniors who would be the first
in their families to attend four-year college. First
in the Family now is re-launching as The CLIC Network,
an extensive online experience uniting all the
participants in the college-bound and matriculating
process in a centralized, simplified, democratized new
goal network.
Please use the following call-in number for the event:
Phone #: 866-692-3158
Participant Passcode: 9018803
Please RSVP to Donna at dma at planetdma.com if you plan
to attend. We have 20 slots available on the
conference line so appreciate you letting us know if
you plan to attend.
Dont miss this great event on the 24th!
Regards,
Sean Fox
