Hi, everyone its not a formal Gardner Service
Event, but I hope some of the L.A. Gardners will join
in the launch event for my new college-bound online
network! The CLIC is hosting another college
application night for L.A. seniors (some of you have
come to my First in the Family college events), and we
would love you to lend a spirited hand! Details
below; thanks so much. dma

**COME VOLUNTEER ONE NIGHT ONLY TO HELP HIGH SCHOOL
SENIORS GET INTO COLLEGE!**
Did you know that in the state of California, only 19
out of 100 high school freshman are projected to
ultimately graduate from college? In the city of
Chicago, that number plummets to 6 out of 100 and
for African-American and Latino freshman, you can chop
that already-alarming statistic in HALF.
The CLIC Network is inviting you to spend four hours
next week to challenge and CHANGE those numbers and
have fun doing it!
Next Wednesday afternoon and evening, The CLIC Network
is hosting the fifth Cal State & UC College
Application night for the more than 1,000 seniors in
the Centinela Valley Union High School District and
their families. We are recruiting 100 volunteers to
help walk the highly motivated Class of 08 through
their first college applications as a team and
consume an impressive pile of pizza.
Please say youll join us. An RSVP with contact
information is required in advance for us to permit
adults onto the campus.
HOW TO VOLUNTEER
Please reply to this email with your full legal
name, main telephone number, email address and the
name of the person who referred you.
On Wednesday, please arrive at the campus by 3:00
pm. (parking is available)
Please wear the official colors or logo apparel of
the college or university from which you graduated
(you will be introducing yourself!)
Plan to stay until at least 7:00 pm.
