Dear Members of the John Gardner Fellowship Association (JGFA):

As we head into the summer, we would love your feedback in two areas.  

MEMBER CONFERENCE CALLS

First, the JGFA officers has discussed hosting regular conference calls
that would highlight someone from the membership (or maybe even a
speaker from outside the membership) talking about a topic that the
members would find interesting and valuable.  In order to develop a
program that will be well-received by the membership, we'd like to get
feedback on the following questions:

1.       If the time was convenient for you, would you join a quarterly,
one-hour conference call to hear a 15-20 minute presentation by a member
of JGFA and followed by a 40 minute open forum that allowed for
interaction with the participants on the call?

2.      If yes, would you be more likely to join during the week or on
the weekend?   Would you prefer morning, afternoon or night?

3.      What kinds of topics would you be interested in hearing about?  

4.       Finally, do you have a specific person who you think would be a
good candidate to be one of our first speakers?

If we don't hear back from the membership on this idea, we will assume
that means there is limited or no interest in it.  So, please, if you
feel this would be a valuable way for you to interact with other members
of JGFA, please let us know your thoughts by responding to this email.

EMAIL NEWSLETTER

As many of you probably remember, we published our first email
newsletter at the end of 2006.  In addition to providing a quick summary
of JGFA's activities, over 20 members provided a personal and/or
professional update as part of that newsletter.  Now that we are nearly
half way through 2007, we'd like to again solicit updates from everyone
through this email.  Please take 5-10 minutes to jot down a quick update
to let folks know what's up in your life.  Feel free to write about
whatever is important to you - a personal milestone, a family event, a
professional achievement, etc.  This is your opportunity to share
whatever thoughts you want with the membership.  The updates will be
published as sent to us without any editing. 

Everyone is busy, so we've found that a deadline helps get everyone to
focus on sending something to us in timely manner.  Please provide your
update by midnight PT on Monday June 11.   We will then publish the
newsletter in the second half of June and as part of the newsletter will
introduce all of you to the new fellows who will be starting they
fellowship year soon. 

We are excited to get your feedback on the conference call idea and your
contributions to the newsletter!
