*JOB DESCRIPTION*
*Organization: * Share Our Strength

*POSITION SUMMARY*
The Grants Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the
grantmaking process for over 300 recipients. This includes preparing and
distributing requests for proposals, managing correspondence with the
applicants, and maintaining processes related to applications and grant
distribution. The Grants Coordinator responds to information inquiries made
by staff, volunteers, and other organizations about grantmaking, and assists
in the education of staff and volunteers on hunger and poverty.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
1. Serve as primary contact for grant applicants' questions with
regard to grant guidelines, the online grants system, and grant
distribution. Manage routine correspondence with grant recipients
including
award letters, grant contracts, and check distribution.
2. Manage the online grants system including creation of proposals,
processing of applications and grants, reporting, and records
maintenance.
Maintain all paper and media files for grant recipients.
3. Receive and respond to telephone and written inquiries regarding
Share Our Strength grant programs. Maintain a record of incoming requests
for grants information.
4. Serve as primary contact for staff requesting grants-related
information. Provide grant-related materials for the audit and the annual
report.
5. Assist in the preparation of materials for meetings presenting
grant recommendations to the Executive Team and grantmaking information
to
other staff and stakeholders.
6. Assist in the development and production of communications
materials on the Share Our Strength's grantmaking and the issue of
hunger.
Assist with anti-hunger and grants content at the annual Conference of
Leaders.
7. Work with Grants team to educate staff and volunteers regarding
grant recipients and funding priorities. Provide opportunities for staff
education through the Hunger Education Certification program. Coordinate
Share Our Strength staff and field site visits.
8. Train, supervise and evaluate grants interns.
9. Provide operational support to grants division of Community
Investment Programs.

Regular interaction with hunger/poverty organizations interested in applying
for funding; current grant recipients; and all staff members.
*SUPERVISION*
Responsibilities reviewed regularly by the Senior Grants Program Manager.
*WORKING CONDITIONS*
Works in a normal office environment.
*JOB QUALIFICATIONS*
· Bachelor's degree required.
· 1 or 2 years of related work experience desired.
· Understanding of nonprofit organizations; past paid or volunteer
experience needed.
· Demonstrated organizational abilities.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Strong computer skills.
