<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Next Saturday -- February
2<sup>nd</sup> at 5pm</b> is the opening of the Marsh Youth Theater’s
production of <b><a href="#http://themarsh.org/myt_perform.html">“In and Out of Shadows”</a>
</b><span style="background:white">a new musical about
undocumented teenagers written especially for MYT Teen Troupe by author Gary
Soto. MYT Teen Troupe interviewed dozens of undocumented teens throughout the
Bay Area, whose stories are incorporated in Soto’s script. Set in Richmond, CA,
this is an important new work of social justice theater full of humor, passion
and hope.</span> </p><p class="MsoNormal">This is particularly exciting for me as <b>I have co-written the music for this show with my wife Emily Klion</b>.</p>

<div><p class="MsoNormal"> </p><p class="MsoNormal"><b>Wednesday, February 27<sup>th</sup></b> I will be performing at <b><a href="http://www.yoshis.com/oakland/jazzclub/artist/show/3231">Yoshi’s in Oakland</a></b> with my dear friend and mentor <b>Terry Riley</b>. This is a rare Bay Area performance by the “godfather of minimalism” whose music has inspired generations of artists from Steve Reich and Phillip Glass to The Who and the Kronos Quartet. Terry and I have been performing for nearly thirty years and our duo performances are particularly inspired adventures, traversing a musical landscape from ragas and standards to sparkling minimalist improvisations and Riley’s own cherished compositions.</p>
