 Dear friends,

I met Terry Riley 40 years ago (what !?!?) when I first came to California.
Less than a year later   Terry came to India where my wife Emily and I were
studying Hindustani vocal music with Pandit Pran Nath (Terry's guru) and we
began singing raga together. After our return from India, Terry invited me
to perform with him here in the US and took me on my first tour to Europe
where our musical adventures began.

Since those early days Terry has remained a powerful influence on my
journey through this musical life and I am thrilled to be performing with
him this Sunday in an intimate duo setting for the Stanford Jazz Festival.

I hope you can join us -- and help celebrate Terry's recent (June 24th)
birthday.
