[Gbrooks-promo] Cancelled and rescheduled Terry Riley concerts -- and Mic Gillette Memorial

I regret to say that *tomorrow's* program with *Terry Riley and George
Brooks *at the *Piedmont Piano Company* and *Saturday's* program at the *LACMA
*are being postponed and will be rescheduled for a date later in the summer
or early fall.

The *Camptonville* concert with *Terry Riley and George Brooks* originally
schedule for
*May 14th, *has been rescheduled for *September 3rd*. We apologize for any
inconvenience.

This unfortunate cancellation does have a silver lining...

On this *Saturday the 7th *I will make a gust appearance at a memorial
concert for my dear friend  *Mic Gillette* (trumpet and trombone with Tower
of Power) who passed away suddenly in January.

Mic and I have a long history that goes back to the early 90s - I had just
left the Etta James band and Mic was re-emerging onto the music scene after
taking time off the road to stay close to his wife Julie and daughter
Megan. We did loads of gigs with the Fundamentals, the Temptations, the
Four Tops and blues greats like Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown and Otis Rush.
And numerous recording sessions for Frankie Lee, Claudette King, Jackie
Greene, Liz Kennedy and Mic's own albums. One of the highlights was when
Mic invited me to join the Tower of Power horn section to play the National
Anthem for a SF Giants home game. I'll post a picture on my facebook page
