I am so excited to bring my stellar band*, Summit *to India for the first
time on a USArtists' sponsored tour. We will be performing at the *Calcutta
Jazz Fest*, *Jus’ jazz* in *Mumbai *and at *Aadi Anant* with the great *Zakir
Hussain*.


The second half of the tour we will collaborate with Indian violin
virtuoso *Kala
Ramnath in support of her Kalashree Foundation, *created to bring music
education to the underserved youth of India.

*GEORGE BROOKS SUMMIT*

On bass is my long time collaborator *Kai Eckhardt*. Raised in Germany and
Liberia, Kai came to the USA in 1980 to study at the Berklee College of
Music. Upon graduating Kai garnered world-wide recognition performing with
John McLaughlin. On drums is Cuban phenomenon*, Dafnis Prieto.* A multi –
Grammy nominated artist, Dafnis is also a recipient of the 2011 MacArthur
“Genius” Fellowship. On keyboards is Egyptian pianist *Ossam Ezeldin, *whose
extraordinary abilities earned him a full scholarship at the Berkelee
College of music and subsequent gigs with Billy Cobham and Dave Weckl. These
artists, hailing from Europe, Africa and the Caribbean represent the
diversity and depth of contemporary American musical cultural.
