Yair Dalal is a wonderful musician of Iraqi - Israeli descent. He is
a composer, violinist, oud player and singer,,committed to
preserving the Babylonian musical heritage and the music of the
Beduim. Much of Dalal’s work reflects his extensive skill in
classical and Arabic music and reflects his strong affinity for the
desert and its habitants. Dalal’s family came to Israel from Baghdad
and his Iraqi roots are embedded in his musical work. He creates new
Middle Eastern music by interweaving the traditions of Iraqi and
Jewish Arabic music with a range of influences from the Balkans to
India.
