On January 10th, ten-year old Chris Rodriguez was taking his first
piano lesson at the Piedmont piano company in Oakland.
In a terrifying moment he was struck by a bullet fired during an
attempted robbery across the street.
Chris suffered major organ damage and a severe spinal injury that has
left him paralyzed from the waist down
Through this ordeal Chris has fought valiantly and maintained a
remarkably positive attitude.
Chris has been released from the hospital and is eager to continue
his musical studies.
I strongly urge you to attend this event not only to support Chris
and his family through this very difficult period--
but to make a LOUD statement that we as a people and community abhor
the violence that is devastating our cities
and ruining the lives of so many of our young people.
This is a way for you to make a difference and join with others to
show how deeply we care!!
The music will be great and the spirit uplifting.
I will be performing at the 10pm show with a host of wonderful
musicians including --
Frank Martin, Jose Neto, Kai Eckhardt, Narada Michael Walden, John
Santos,Anton Schwartz, Dan Feiszli,
Roger Glenn, Carol Alban, Matt Herskowitz, Suellen Primost, Tina Glenn.
