Hello all-

I am just back from a wonderful month performing and recording in India.
I had the pleasure of working with some of my favorite musicians in a  
variety of settings.

A brief synopsis...

Concerts:

... in Chennai with the great Carnatic violin duo Kumaresh and Ganesh.
... in Kolkata with Trilok Gurtu, Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Louiz Banks  
Tejendra Majumdar and Rakesh Chaurasia.
...in Delhi and Kolkata with Louiz Banks and Gary Lawyer
...in Mumbai with Sivamani
... and a very special morning concert with John McLaughlin, Zakir  
Hussain and Louiz Banks in honor of Ustad Allah Rakha.

In addition I was in Pune recording with sitarist Shakir Parvez and  
Austrian drummer Bernhard Schimplesberger,
and in Goa recording with a fascinating group of musicians from  
Siberia, Moscow, Italy, Israel and Puerto Rico.

I will keep you informed as to when these CD projects become available.


BAY AREA CONCERTS!!

This Sunday at 2pm

I will be performing a concert of jazz standards and original  
explorations at the Pleasanton Library,
400 Old Bernal Ave., Pleasanton, CA in a trio setting with pianist  
Peter Horvath (Joe Henderson, Bobby Hutcherson, Victor Bailey)
and bassist John Shifflet, (Boz Scaggs, Dave Leibman, Steve Smith)  
two outstanding Bay Are musicians.

March 25th at 7pm
I will be at the Amador Theater ---1155 Santa Rita Road, Pleasanton, CA
with violinist Kala Ramnath and bassist Kai Eckhardt,
reprising the "Global Conversation" that we premiered in India this  
past November.

These concerts are FREE and sponsored by the Pleasanton Library, East  
Bay Marathi Mandal, California Cultural Crossroads Program and the  
California State Library Grant.
